THE BEGGINING
Every Empire Started As A Campfire
The tradition of Gladius began millennia before its creation. Since time immemorial, warriors have gathered around campfires to prepare for the battles of dawn.
In the glow of the burning wood, they shared tales of myths, legends, and heroes. Stories that stirred the courage needed to conquer. The strength of Hercules, speed of Achilles, ruthlessness of Odin, courage of Ulysses...
Some of these warriors engraved symbols and words from those stories onto the blades of their swords as a reminder of what they fought for and how they wanted to carry themselves when the clash began.
Combat has always been as much a battle of the mind as of the body. The stories you choose to ignite their spirits decided whether the campfire became an empire.
THE REALIZATION
A Permanent Marker & A Dragon
Fast forward to our days.
The power of stories continued to be a powerful source of inspiration for combat, but it took a curious episode to open our eyes to it.
While teaching boxing classes at a local gym in Panama City, our founder noticed that one of the most successful athletes had written on his gloves with a permanent marker:
"The bigger the dragon, the stronger the hero"
It was instantly evident why he excelled in his craft. It was all about the story he told himself everyday. He embraced hard sessions, bad days, and challenges because he knew they would make him stronger.
Warriors of the past and present, united by the same power of stories to drive action.
That very same night, Gladius was born.

Since its creation on that fateful night, Gladius has stood firm in its principle: to craft gloves that inspire action.
