Good protection for partner

This product is perfect for sparring. It is an mma glove that has enough filling to avoid getting your training peers hurt. Mma gloves are usually horribly filled and not accepted in most gyms for sparring, I know a lot of people that got KOed and badly bruised. I’ve sparred countless times using regular boxing gloves and couldn’t use subs or locks. This gloves and Title’s and the only that I know that will be good to spar without killing your friends.

If your game relies more in stand-up striking this gloves will be perfect for you. Good knuckle protection whilst keeping it light. For a grappling-based mixed martial artist this would not be adequate; it is too bulky and makes it difficult to use locks and submissions.

If you’re unsure between two sizes, always choose the larger one. It’s easier to adapt to a slightly looser glove than to struggle with a tight one that could hinder your grappling technique.

What is the glove material?

What’s the difference between MMA and boxing gloves?

Boxing gloves are built solely for striking, while MMA gloves are designed to accommodate both striking and grappling.

Boxing gloves are fully padded around the knuckles and back of the hand to protect both the fighter and their opponent during repeated strikes. They are bulkier, provide more wrist support, and are designed exclusively for striking.

MMA gloves are lighter (usually 4-6oz) with less padding and an open-finger design. This allows fighters to grapple, clinch, and perform submission techniques, making them more versatile for mixed martial arts.

How do I know if my gloves fit correctly?

Your MMA gloves should feel snug but not overly tight. They should fit comfortably around your hand with no pinching or excessive looseness. You should be able to make a full fist and open your hand easily without resistance. The wrist straps should secure the gloves firmly without cutting off circulation.

Always test your gloves while wearing hand wraps, as they add bulk and can affect the fit. If the gloves feel too tight or too loose with wraps on, they might not be the right size for you.

How do I take care of my gloves?

All Gladius gloves come with care instructions included in your delivery box. Here are our top recommendations to keep your gloves in prime condition:

  • Air them out after every session, let your gloves breathe. Open them up to dry and avoid trapping moisture.
  • Keep them fresh by applying a bit of glove deodorizers or inserts to absorb sweat.
  • Wipe them down weekly with a damp cloth to clean the surface.
  • Store it in a cool, dry place —never in a sealed bag for extended periods or exposed to sunlight for more than two hours.
  • Condition the leather every 1-2 months with a quality leather balm.

Remember, your glove is your battle sword, and a master always cares for their tools.
