I am a huge fan of the movie Gladiator. Got very surprised there is a boxing glove inspired in gladiatorial games. It makes total sense, boxers are the gladiators of our time. Nice catch from the product designers.

I have only used it 4 times in the gym, so they are not broke in. Gotta wait a few weeks to make a final call, but so far so good. It looks nice and comes in a good packaging.

Our gloves tell stories.
The idea for Gladius came to me while I was teaching boxing classes at a local gym in Panama City. One day, I noticed that one of my most succesful students had written on his gloves with a permanent marker: "The bigger the dragon, the stronger the hero"
In that moment, I instantly knew why he had so much success in traning. It was all about the story he told himself everyday. He welcomed daunting challenges because he knew it would make him stronger. That moment changed how I saw fighting gear forever.
For too long, the fight game has been obssessed with tech improvements, but forgot the essence of what gloves really stand for.
Don't get me wrong, technology does matter. A good pair of fighting gloves should protect your hand, support your wrist and help you strike or grapple with precision.
But champions aren't built by tech. They're built by the stories they tell themselves.
Fighting is a mental game. Many fights are won - or lost - before the bell even rings. That's why I believe gloves shouldn't just protect you; they need to inspire you and remind you the stories you choose to unleash your inner strenght.
That's why I created Gladius with a team that share this vision. To bring back meaning to our gear. To create gloves inspired in mithology, war, natural wonders and many other eternal tales that capture our imagination.
While we respect other glove manufacturers and learned much from them, we believe Gladius is not an average glove. We live by the credo that we are in the business of crafting our modern-day swords of battle.
And as any warrior knows, these swords are an extension of your fighter soul.
